A favorite place of mine is the Garfield Park Conservatory. My fiance and I had our first date there. It's been a special place ever since. The fauna and flora are beautiful. But they do much more than just maintain a garden. They educate people on how to grow gardens and, once a year, give out free flower bulbs and young trees to grow in your own yard at home. I will be planting tulip and hyacinth bulbs I got from here in a few weeks.

One of my favorite places in Chicago is the North Riverside Mall. I go there a lot with some of my friends and family. It is where I do most of my Christmas shopping and where I get most birthday gifts.

ReplyDeleteAn interesting place to go is the "Alameda del sur" that is in the south of D.F. there are some many attractions that are always changing.
ReplyDeleteThere you can do wathever you want but the interesting part of it is that on Sundays there are old music and the old people go to dance and it is interesting because they are always very elegant and you can listen the music that they used to hear when they were young and how they danced it :D

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite places in the Mexico city is the Hippodrome of the Americas because I really like horses and here I can see a lot. I usually go with my family on Sundays and watch the races, sometimes we bet. We also visit the stores and the restaurants in the hippodrome and we eat. I think that the hippodrome is a good place to visit because there you can learn, you can have fun and you can spend time with your family or your friends.

I have two favorite places in the city, they are santa fe and a insurgentes, a beautiful streat. In santa fe you can do many things like go to the gotcha, go to shopping, etc. And in insurgentes you can go to shopping and walk in the streat at night. It's more beautiful for the starts and the moon.

ReplyDeleteWell, in Mexico City as we know is the city with more history of the country, and for this we have much places around the urbanity.
One of my favorite places is the historic center of "Chapultepec" in the heart of the city.
We can do whatever activities such as visiting many and elegant museums.
Also we can stroll around the forest, visiting places of entertainment as The National Auditorium, an also something that I like so much, get on a "Turibús" and follow the route that goes from the audience and ends at the zocalo. I recomended this if you want visit this beautiful city.

Mexico is a great and rich country in diversity of species, climate, indigenous languages, traditions and culture. I am very proud of my country and of be mexican, and one of the things because I am is that, according to the World Tourism Organization, Mexico is the main tourist destination in Latin America, one of the 10 most visited countries in the world and one of 12 mega-diverse countries in the world.

The centre of the country has been called the city of the Palaces “Ciudad de los Palacios”, one of the reasons because many people call the city with this name is the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts), this palace was made with marmol and with strong steel structure, and also crowned with an eagle. This building started to build at the beginnings of this century, for order of the General Porfirio Diaz who wanted to celebrate with this building the centenary of the independence of Mexico.
ReplyDeleteInside the building you can also find many fresco paintings in the walls, this method is called “muralismo”, a unique genre in our country, some of the artist were Orozco, Siquieros, of course the famous Diego Rivera and many others. The purpose of the paintings is to narrate the history of Mexico over time.

Hello everybody!! My favorite place in México city is a site called Coyoacán it´s located in the south of the city and It has a lot of story. To begin, in the past it was a prehispanic center and it was the place where the mandate´s powers had been situated during the recontruction of Tenochtitlan, in fact, Hernán Cortes lived here.

My favorite place in Coyoacán is the town in the night, because it´s an amazing place where you can find a lot of things like handbags, souvenirs, and a lot a lot of food like hot chocolate and coffe, cotton´s candy, churros rellenos, elotes y esquites and other delicious things, I remember when I was a kid I always said to my parents "Please take me to Coyoacan" because I had a lot of fun there. So do my parents enjoy go to Coyoacan, they always said "yes"... It´s a beautiful place with a lot of history.

ReplyDeleteOn sundays my family and I go to a ride on bycicle at downtown. I always have a lot of fun! Plus, you can see lots of amazing buildings, my favorite is "Bellas Artes" It's awesome to have a good time in family on the weekend, you should try it!

hello again everybody, in Mexico we have the most beautifull places in the world, I enjoy to go to the "BAR LIMON" wich is in polanco, also I use to spend time in the "La Republica" that is another bar that is perfect for drinking beer. That is another place that is much better, its name is Beer Factory and I suposed you all have a beer factory near your home.. Honestly I am very happy to have one near my house because there is not only the perfect place to taste the diferent kinds of beer, there is also a good restaurant and there the food taste so good and the atosphere is great. We have cultural classic Places like xochimilco, chapultepec, zocalo, but i get bored there and those places are so very really extremely far away.... trust me

ReplyDeleteOne of the most interesting places in my city is Teotihuacan which means gods place. It is a place that was built many many years ago by our ancestors, there used to habit the Aztecs a Mexican civilization. It was one of the biggest cities of Mesoamerica, nowadays it´s located in Mexican Valley. It has two big pyramids: La pirámide de la Luna (The Moon Pyramid) and La pirámide del Sol (The Sun Pyramid), that were used for make sacrifices to the different gods they worshiped. But this pyramids aren´t the only constructions in Teotihuacan, there are more other constructions, but the most important are both pyramids.
ReplyDeleteThere is a myth that says that if you get to the very top of the pyramid you will receive energy from the gods.
I have had many different experiences there; I have gone there many times. The last time I went was on 3* of secondary with all my classmates, the teachers organize an excursion to Teotihuacan with all the generation; it was like a goodbye trip because we were going to high school. We all were divided in small groups, and each group was wearing a different color. We had a guided visit, where we learnt more about this awesome place. I was very impressed because of the dimension of that place, it´s really big and the pyramids are enormous, you´ve to walk a lot; in the morning it is very cold, but in the afternoon it´s really hot!!
It was an unforgettable trip, I really enjoy it and I had a great time with all my friends. So my dear friends from Chicago I invite you to come to Mexico city and visit this wonderful place called Teotihuacan, with friends or family, it doesn´t matter I´m pretty sure you´re going to have a great time; and also you can learn more about our culture and history.

Hello everyone! I totally agree with Andrea´s coment, in fact in Mexico we have a lot of places like Tehotihuacan... other place that is too so important is Tenochtitlan it was the capital of the azteca empire, this place nowadays it´s located in the centre of Mexico but as it was a place of big battles and that was built many years ago, it has suffered big changes and damages.
ReplyDeleteOne of the big battles that happened in this amazing place was "La noche triste" as we called here in Mexico, in this battle Hernan Cortes and his army entered to the capital (Teochtitlan) because they wanted more gold and wealth from the aztecs.
In the begining the governor of Tenochtitlan called Moctezuma thought that Cortés was his god but of course he wasn´t... So that when Moctezuma knows it, he tried to take Cortés as a prisioner but Cortés taked Moctezuma in his own palace as a prisioner first and then Cortes killed him. After that, other governor got up to the power, and in the night of jun 30 of 1520, Cortés and his army decided to flee in secret. But in the process, they were discovered, and pursued by the people of Tenochtitlan. In the way Cortés lost all the wealth he had stolen, so he started to cried.
So now that you know a little of the history of this place come to visit it cause it´s so amazing when you are there imagine all the things there hapened.

ReplyDeleteTalking about Chicago, I think that an interesting place where I would like to go there is the Water tower that Tamayra has mentioned, because it sounds interesting to me. And the Millenium Park in downtown Chicago because many people has mentioned it and it sounds also interesting.
Finally, talking about Mexico, I agree with Andrea and Iliana because here are many interesting places to which we can go, but as Fernando says, a problem is the traffic (though in general it is only in the city, because in the other states do not) :)

ReplyDeleteIn Mexico there are many interesting places such as the pyramids of Teotihuacan and many interesting museums but we also have incredible places to vacation. Personally I love to go to Cancun, Quintana Roo because it is a very beautiful and its beaches are very nice =).
For a quieter holiday, the Mexican Riviera, which extends south of Cancun to more traditional, historical, and natural areas like Isla Mujeres, the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and the island of Cozumel is amazing and incredible to go with the family =)
Just about every kind of water sport is available in Cancun - parasailing, water skiing and scuba diving :b
Really I recommend it =). It´s amazing.

Well, I think if you had the opportunity to visit all the interesting places in the city, you’d need a lot of time… because they are many.
ReplyDeleteOne place which has a long tradition here in Mexico city is CHAPULTEPEC. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a lot of money; almost everybody has gone to Chapultepec, because it’s a part of the city where you can do a lot of things: there are many museums (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Museo de Antropología, Museo Nacional de Historia, Museo Tecnológico). Chapultepec has many green areas, and lakes where people can rest and spend time with the family having a picnic, playing, reading, etc. Or if you like animals you should go to the Chapultepec zoo which is free.
Also there are street sellers who sell candies, and your face can be painted like a princess (if you are girl) or like Spiderman (if you are boy). Every weekend there must be some shows: clowns, dancers, actors, storytelling, etc.
Chapultepec has also a lot of history; it was the place where the mexicas had lived before they arrived to Tenochtitlan, some wars took place there, events that changed Mexican history.
It´s an unforgettable experience to go to Chapultepec, you’ll enjoy it for sure.

ReplyDeleteThe “Foro Sol” is an stadium of baseball of the Red Devils, but when they don´t play, the place is used for all kinds of concerts, two weeks ago in this place it was the most important event of rock in Spanish called “Vive Latino” Is an event where approximately 100 bands are joined for three days, this is a very interesting event. Hi! One of the most interesting places in Mexico are the "pirimides de Chichén itzá", that are located at the "penisnsula de Yucatán" in the south part of Mexico. It is a very important vestige of the Mayan civilisation.

It´s a very interesting place, where you can learn a lot of things about the origin of one of the main cultures of Mexico.

And using what you said the "Foro Sol" I can mention that is a place that can have more of 60,000 people. It is a cultural center, nice, and confortale place.
Foro Sol is a sports and concerts venue, built in 1993, inside the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, in eastern Mexico City. :)
Another date (as José said) It is home to the Mexican Baseball League team, and hosted Pool B of the 2009 World Baseball Classic March 8–12, 2009!!! I remember when I was in secondary School (Junnior high school) my teacher took us to see a game...was spectacular !!

The "Soumaya" is a new museum in Mexico City that was opened on march 1st 2011, it has a lot of interesting things that you can see including more than 6200 masterpices like paintings and others...

According to my friends, I totally share the idea that México is a mega-diverse country in terms of places to visit.
ReplyDeleteYou can simply take a walk to a park and find out and impressively flora, and some beautiful birds.
My favorite place in the city is Coyoacán, like many fiends also wrote. Coyoacan is one of the places taht most hosted important personalities in the history of my country as Hernán Cortés, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, Leon Trostky and Dolores del Río, as well as some presidents México had. However, now a days, Coyoacán it´s not only, mankind´s cultural heritage, but a place that offers any number of cultural atractions.
Some important places to visit are museums like El Museo Nacional de Culturas Populares, the Frida´s Kahlo museum or the Foro Cultural Coyoacanence.
I used to go with my fiends and spend time in Coyoacan eating esquites and elotes, or sometimes we just sit around the fountain and look the people passing trhough the park. I really enjoy going there, cause I always find what to do and it´s a beautiful place to me.

ReplyDeleteThe Italian Bruno Pagliai is excited with the idea of building a racetrack in the growing city of Las Vegas, which since 1901 had in operation the first casino, the Golden Gate. Pagliai thought that a racetrack would be the perfect complement to the "city of the game", but found a refusal that led him to California, where he also failed. We talk about the year 1941.
Then he learned that in Mexico only operated a racetrack in Tijuana and we hope to convince the government of its construction. Somehow he managed to get it.
Abaut the Luis'comment, I think that the Teotihuacan site is very beautiful, and is a place that is visited by a lot fo people, epacially in the spring season.

In Mexico City there are many beautiful places like “Paseo de la Reforma” and “Chapultepec” in these streets you can visit a museums, shopping centers, stores, restaurants, coffes, etc. If one day come to Mexico you can find a lot of hotels in “Paseo de la Reforma”. In the historical center of Mexico City you can find archaeological sites, museums, cultural centers, restaurants, stores, colonial buildings and contemporary. If you want to know better the center you can pay a “turibus”. The “turibus” is a tourist transport because it gives you guided tours to discover and enjoy Mexico City. You can take this transport near the Metropolitan Cathedral and in front of the Nacional Monte de Piedad.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don´t have a special place in Mexico City but I really like "Paseo de la Reforma" because it is a nice place to walk, eat and spend time with friends or family, anything in particular that I like is that there is a bike service “ecobici” at different points but you must register and pay a monthly fee and have at least 18 years of age (you can leave the bike at the nearest module and do not return it where you got it).

I think that one of the most beautiful place that we have in mexico is the "PIRAMIDES DE TEOTIHUACAN", Teotihuacan is an enormous archaeological site in the Basin of Mexico, containing some of the largest pyramidal structures built in the pre-Columbian Americas.

Hi,I am Emiliano Morales,There are many different places in Mexico´s city.Distrito Federal is huge metropoli, where you cand find a lot of different interesting places for visiting like Tetihuacan which is an archeological zone surrounded by mountains, it´s mainly known by it´s pyramids of the sun and the moon, another place that I like so much is Acapulco, the beaches of this place are very cool and very clean and the climate is pretty good for going on vacations.Also Mexico´s center is a very beautiful place for taking a walk with friends or familiars, there are a lot of resaturants where you can find a lot of mexican dishes.

I think my fav place to go is the HOUSE OF TEA, is near Roma and it's an interesting and gorgeous place where you can have a cup of tea, they sell tea of all over the world, it's a really nice place to go with your friends.
Of course Mexico has gorgeous beaches, whenever we have the opportunity to go I enjoy every second in the sea :)

ReplyDelete-Coyoacan´s ;Here is a cute place to go with your family, friends and lovers ;). It has beautiful and lovely parks. Also you can find places to eat good and... well fastfood too. After you eat you can watch and participate in the events (concert´s, clown show´s, conferences, etc) all aroud this center.
Do you like deserts? Well there´s a lot of legendary ice cream places!!! ;)
Well, ice cream is not de only delicious thing you can enjoy, also Coyoacan´s center has tipical candy shops where you can buy sugar cotton, cachetadas (A large and thin candy which can be green,blue,red, yellow and orange,) cocadas (A coconut candy), Diferent presentation of tamarindo (A spicy candy), blocks of amaranto, alegrias (Like a thin taco made of wheat flour and inside this it has some sweet honey and peanuts, And many more tipical candys!!
-Malls: Perisur, Gransur, Plaza Universidad, Plaza Loretto, etc...You know shops, cinema, restaurants, etc.
-Historic center of Mexico city; here you have an amazing catedral, next to this are the ruins of the Templo Mayor one of the most important contruction of the aztecs, that if we suprime the religious stuff it represented the power of the aztec empire. You can find also the goberment palace where the president work... this an many important bulidings are in this center...
Other place that if you come to Mexico have to visit is:
-Teotihuacan, an ancient abandoned city... the scientists say this place was built and abandoned before the aztecs exist!!! Actually when the aztecs get to the zone of the actual Mexico cit, they passed next to Teotihuacan and they couldn´t belive the beautiful it was!!!

ReplyDeleteOne of the things because Mexico is awesome, are the beaches, actually they're considered in the top of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I'm agree with Erick because Cancun is a really beautiful city, where some of the beaches from MExico are located, and not just the beaches, there are lot of things to do in Cancun, you can go to X-Caret or Isla Mujeres to visit somo of the beaches, there are also many discotheques which are really cool, and you should visit some places in the night, there are always shows in the night, and fireworks, shopping is awesome there in almost all malls, and some drinks are delicious like the "piña colada".
If you're looking for a place more typical to visit, I recommend you to visit the pyramids of Teotihuacan, another option to visit is Coyoacan, as my friends said some posts before, is a beautiful place where you can find the unimaginable things! You find hippies, you find also beautiful things like earrings, some persons that are painters, and of course you find ice creams, which i love because when the heat is horrible, you buy an ice cream & they are delicious because they are natural!

Mexico has a lot of nice places , which i love them , for exaple one of my favorite places to visit is the Azteca Stadium , which was built the october the 12 1916, and is the stadium with more capacity in the world with people seated.

ReplyDeletei think all the people that lives in mexico city loves their state but I have lived in Mérida Yucatán and I swear that you will be excited if you visit these place.
In Mérida there are many ecological places to vist, like beaches, rivers, museums, archeology and cenotes.
I think all of us know what does beaches, rivers, museums and archeology means but sometimes the people ask me what does cenotes means.
Cenotes are like a hole where the water is, forming a more or less deep pond. There are several types of sinkholes: open, semi-underground or in caves. cenotes are so fantastic because you can swim and the water is very clean.
Merida is located in the southeast of our country and is known for the safe and cleanest state of the Mexican Republic thats why i like to go merida.

In Mexico you can find many beautiful beaches like Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta , Acapulco, etc. but my favorite beach is Cancun because there you can have so much fun. I love to go to Cancun because you can have a good time taking the sun and enjoying the sea and at night you can find several places where you can have so much fun. Other place that I like is Chichen-itza that is an archeological site of the Mayan Civilization and is located in the Yucatan Peninsula. There can see pyramids and structures that our ancestors built and you can buy many things like miniature pyramids or Mayan faces.

ReplyDeleteMexico has a lot of beautiful places but the one I think is the most interesting place to go in Mexico City is the "Alameda del Sur" that is in the south of D.F.
There are some attractions that are always changing.
There you can do whatever you want but the interesting part of it is that on Sundays there is old music and the old people go to dance and they are always very elegant and you can listen the music that they used to hear when they were young and how they danced it :D
Is a very good place if you want to read also because there is a library where you can learn a lot of things, outside there are many food stands where you can eat and enjoy your beautiful day .
One of the most amusement attractions I have seen is a little place that has a lot of dinosaurs and the ticket costs only $25°° pesos
There were a lot of prehistoric animals like the Tyrannosaurus Rex that was in the esplanade of Canal de Miramontes and Calzada de las Brujas.
The exhibition is considered totally recreational and didactic. The visitors have learnt in a funny and easily form the history of each one of the species as well as the characteristic movements.
I really enjoy it because I went with my family and I got very scare when I first saw the Tyrannosaurus Rex because it was very big.
Finally I can say is the best place ever!

Hello ¡!... Mexico has very nice places where you could spend a beautiful moment. One of many beaches are, me and my parents we love spending time there. There are many beaches in Mexico as Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Escondido, Acapulco, Mazatlan and more .. But our favorite is Cancun, before I liked the sea but with the hurricane it got a bit ugly. In Cancun you can go to many places has many famous places and also has a very special place for Mexico Chichen-Itza is. I recommend you go to Cancun it will have a great time you and your family.

It’s a place where you can go to museums and expend time with your family; outside of this place you can walk and see a lot of pictures about the Mexican progress in medicine and in the army.
ReplyDeleteI have gone to this place many times; I like it because you can learn so much about culture and the past of Mexico. I recommend this place because I like the dynamics of the museum and shows like dancers and the “voladores de papantla” .I remember when I visited for first time the castle and I was surprise about the rooms and everything; the place is too big and cold. There is a garden with many flowers and a side of this garden where some people can sing like opera, troba and music used to dance in that time.
But in there is a famous place called “Castillo de Chapultepec” where have a history of a kids that fight for this country with the United State of America and he died heroic I left you a picture of this beautiful place. Teotihuacan:archeological zone lies 50 kilometers south of Mexico City, in a part of Valle de Mexico (Bays of Mexico) surrounded by mountains. Teotihuacan, mainly known for its famous Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon , was the biggest ancient city of Mexico and at the same time the capital city of the biggest pre-Spanish empire in Central America.
It is characteristic, that the main streets in the city, which cross at a right angle, were designed at the beginning of the Common Era, and the Pyramid of the Sun was built at the place of the former temple in 150. The major part of the building was erected in 250-160 AD. In the greatest development period in the 6th century, it was the sixth biggest city in the world (with about 200,000 inhabitants).

As some friends have said before, the beaches in Mexico are beautiful and perfect places to relax, enjoy and know during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to talk about some beautiful beaches which has the state of Baja California Sur and that my friends have not mentioned before; more precisely in Cabo San Lucas.
Cabo San Lucas is a city on the southern tip of Baja California, whose capital is San José del Cabo. The warm waters, beautiful beaches, abundant fishing and other attributes, motivated a large number of mexican and foreign investors, to invest in large-scale tourism developments. In 1974 the mexican government created the infrastructure to make it one of the most beautiful resorts in Mexico.
During winter in the bays and lagoons as San Ignacio, Magdalena Bay and Scammon, whales come to mate and then return to their homes, returning mothers one year after, giving birth to their whale calves. While in the process in which they found on beaches, tourists and residents can observe them closely, enjoying a wonderful view.
You cannot stop going, it's a place full of beauty, culture and fun (like San Jose del Cabo)

Luis enrique you are rigth, in coyoacan you can do all that things, and the thing about the coffee it´s true... el jarocho it´s a great but I just want to add at your coment is... the "churros" especially those who are filled with something, for example caramel or strawberry jam... ohhh it´s very delicious eat churros with amazing coffee and it´s better when you are in this place so quiet and magical as coyoacan!!!
